Role Description

At IKEA Älmhult AB, we meet our guests in all our various operations, such as: in the Kitchen at IKEA Museum, the Lobby restaurant, or the Grill at IKEA Hotel, MUMS, and the Activity House. We are now looking for someone who is passionate about food and creating a fantastic dining experience for our guests during breakfast, lunch rush, and evening service. As a Food Production Co-worker, you will play an important role in preparing, cooking, and serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner for our guests.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of ingredients and mise en place
  • Meeting guests and portioning food
  • Assisting chefs and simple cooking
  • Dishes
  • Receiving goods deliveries
  • Keeping the kitchen clean and fresh for each new day

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of creating an exciting Småland food experience! You love service and, together with your colleagues, strive to create the best experience for the guest every day. Previous experience working in a restaurant and/or service industry is a plus. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with many people and high energy. You have the ability to take initiative to get things done and can see what needs to be done. You are also curious about constantly learning new things and always want to find solutions and handle everyday problems. And of course, you share our passion for IKEA's history, culture, and values!

Specific requirements for the role:

  • Education in food, such as chef training for either cold or hot kitchen
  • Experience working in a kitchen previously
  • Fluent in Swedish and English in both speech and writing. Additional language skills are a plus.
  • Comfortable using computers and various types of IT applications.
  • You hold a Swedish work permit.
  • Working in a team where you help each other to create the best possible experience for the guest is something you are passionate about.

Additional Information

We are now offering several part-time positions (around 80%, but contract size may vary) on a temporary basis during the summer for the period from June to August 31. Training may begin on a lower contract size during evenings and weekends in May and June. Our schedules follow the opening hours of our operations. Working hours are primarily scheduled for lunch and evening times as well as weekends. All our operations are located in Älmhult.
